In Australia's transport industry, the Government is waiting with business to foster an environment of self regulation and accreditation.

TruckSafe is widely recognised in the industry. In many cases operators will need to be accredited to gain access to major transport routes. Major transport companies and freight users will also expect customers to be accredited.

TruckSafe accreditation has been established to improve the standard of safety and proffesionalism in the trucking industry. It has four standards which operators are required to meet in order to become accredited and remain within the program.

They are:

  • Workplace and Driver Health
  • Vehicle Maintenance
  • Training
  • Management

Operators are audited regularly to ensure standards are met.

TruckSafe provides a number of benefits to accredited operators.

  • Establishment of business systems to ensure consistency and standardisation throughout the business.
  • Customer confidence that the operator is meeting due diligence and duty of core responsiblities.
  • Preferred treatment from insurers, financial institutions, and enforcement agencies.

  • Greater access to the Freight Network.
