Traineeships
Transport Forum and Traineeships
For many years there has been no assistance available for the skilling of workers operating within the Logistics field. The Federal government has made funding available to employers to provide training to existing workers (employed longer than 3 months) and gain Nationally accredited qualifications (Certificate II & III in a recognised stream, e.g. Warehousing and Storage). Training is also available to new employees through State Based traineeships.
Transport Forum WA can offer a range of accredited training in the Transport and Distribution industry. This includes Warehouse and Storage, Road Transport and Transport Logistics (Administration) to Certificate III.
Why You Should Choose The Transport Forum Training Model
In a standard program you would have to deal with several stakeholders, Transport Forum takes the hassle out of this and does it for you.
If you have a problem with training issues you can call Transport Forum. If you have a problem with the Apprenticeship and Traineeship Support Network you call Transport Forum.
Transport Forum will liaise with all stakeholders and on those occasions when a stakeholder will be required to come on site, TFWA will be there with you to deal with any issues. Throughout the period of the traineeship Transport Forum will organise and submit the entire administrative requirements, including documents, required by the legislative bodies.
TFWA will ensure that the training is completed in accordance with what you NEED and EXPECT.
Traineeships
TFWA will use a suite of information to ensure that you receive the maximum benefit from services provided. To do this we will determine and investigate areas of importance such as:
- Training will be tailored to YOUR business and YOUR procedures and processes.
- Ensuring training is relevant for trainees.
- Services will be mapped to specific roles, not just generic or 'off-the-shelf'.
- Services have minimal impact on operational requirements.
- Our service will not affect YOUR service.
- Maintaining consistency with your Human Resources strategy.
- Ensuring everyone's safety.
- That Transport Forum provides you with what you Need and Expect.
To provide you with the best service, TFWA will follow an extensive checklist of steps prior to training being implemented. These include:
- Providing a list of available competencies to the customer and the trainee.
- Considering the organisations environment, average length of experience, type of activities and structure of personnel prior to making a short list of proposed units of competency for training.
- Ensuring that the list of possible competencies is best match to meet what is required from stakeholders.
- A 'walk-through' of how the competencies can be achieved with the customer - trainee.
- Making any changes and ensure customer - trainee is 100% happy with competencies.
- Training issues scheduled and how that will be conducted.
- Reporting requirements to the customer.
- Assessment of the strategy and process discussed and agreed upon.
- Delivery and training strategies discussed and agreed upon.
- Frequency of Training and Assessment visits agreed to.
- How the strategies will impact on and off-the-job training.
- Discussing with both parties how a judgment (result of assessments) will be made.
- Training session plans for each UoC's completed.
- Preparing the trainee for training or skills recognition.
- Issuing of Training Record Book, Self Paced learning activities and Assessment Tasks.
- Scheduling Management and Training Support.
