Membership of Transport Forum WA

For nearly 100 years our Organisation has been providing its members with services and products to improve their business within the transport industry.  In recent times the increased Government (State and federal) Regulations and Legislation together with difficult economic conditions, have impacted on the transport industry and those who operate within it.  As a consequence Transport Forum WA has adopted significant changes in the way it offers value to its members by providing the following benefits.

REPRESENTATION

1. We actively lobby for changes and improvements in State Legislation to benefit our members "WITH ONE VOICE'.
2. Our aim is to be the peak body negotiating with Government instrumentalities such as Main Roads, Department of Planning & Infrastructure, regarding policy direction and members' issues.
3. We proactively take a position where it is perceived to be in the best interest of our members.

COMPLIANCE

We ensure that members are kept up to date with compliance requirement's and newly introduced legislation through our "Weekly Communique" and when required a series of briefings at locations around the State.

PRODUCTS AND SERVICES TO IMPROVE OPERATING PROFIT

1. Transport industry specific training can be delivered by the accredited and industry experience trainers of the Training Division of Transport Forum WA.  Compliance based training includes Dangerous Goods, Load Restraint, Fatigue Management, OHS Training and nationally Accredited Forklift training, with members enjoying a discounted rate on these training courses;
2. Customised Traineeship training can also be delivered to members.  This could include School Based Traineeships where young people are encouraged to be part of the industry;
3. Through our legal firm partner Cullen, Babbington, Hughes our members are provided with access to reduced cost legal services where a component of any consultation is at no charge;
4. Our partner Work Options provides members with, for example, Drug & Alcohol Policy documents; Procedure management Programs - all at a discounted price.  Likewise a cost reduction applies to their OH&S Assist Programme.  Work Options also provide a Workers Compensation Injury management Service to members at a reduced cost and the additional benefit is that Workers Compensation Insurance Premiums are kept to a minimum;

1. Through our major sponsor TRANSUPER members have access to the transport industry's superannuation fund.
2. Networking opportunities through Industry Briefings' Seminars, Workshops and other functions & events.
