Convoy for Kids 2009

Convoy for Kids What a day!  The excitement on the kid's faces was priceless.  With nearly 200 trucks - which was great - thank you to all who participated it sure was a site to see - over 7km's of trucks moving in Convoy and the sound of the hors could be heard suburbs away!
The day could not have been possible without many hours of pre-organisation - a huge thank you to Derek Nathan for all your hard work in making the day a success.
We would also like to extend a thank you to the Coles Group for the best assembly area and support that we could have asked for.
OZ West Pilots, who dontated their time assisting the WA Traffic Police in keeping the convoy in line and on track, thanks Joe.
Of course the WA Traffic Coordination Unit with 25 officers on bikes and in cars keeping the Convoy flowing smoothly.
Our Passenger Services Members Arthur McHuge, Des Stanway & Brenda Chitty who donated their time and their buses to help ferry families to the Truck and Trailer Show.
National Foods who dontated mild drinks for the kids and Mercer Mooney who supplied over 1600 pieces for fruit to put in the give away bags for the kids attending.
Payne Haulage for allowing us to use their truck in the photo hsoot for the media, and to Cathi Payne who has taken heaps of wonderful pictures of the event.  Pictures of the event can be seen here.

The Convoy raised over $7,000 for the Diabetes Research Foundation
